LAUREN GREEN, MUSIC DIRECTOR-CONDUCTOR

Beginning his 47th season as the Bartlesville Symphony’s Music Director-Conductor, Lauren Green’s creative programming and engaging ways on the podium have made him an effective and admired musical communicator to audiences and musicians alike.

A native of Pasadena, CA, and a graduate of the University of Redlands, where he studied cello and conducting, Green moved to Bartlesville in 1977.

Since then he has taught college, directed church music, programmed and announced on radio, hosted a TV show, and for a time was even the Laboratory Manager at 21st Sensory, where he cooked and created food every day for a panel of Sensory Analysts.

Through the entire time, Lauren has led the Bartlesville Symphony through decades of growth and development, continuing as both conductor and planner to create exciting and inspiring concert experiences.

Currently, Lauren also plays cello professionally with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Tulsa Opera, and the Tulsa Ballet, and has served as past guest conductor for the Tulsa Signature Symphony in their “Fourth on the Third” concert, playing to a full house and enthusiastic acclaim.

He has been married for 40 years to his amazing wife Juanita, who is also a performing member of the Bartlesville Symphony. After 15 years in her former role as the choral director at Madison Middle School, Juanita spent the next 15 years as a Territory Specialist in the pharmaceutical field. They have two grown children, Elizabeth and Daniel, as well as a grandson.

Maestro Green plans to return for the 2024-2025 season to lead the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra for what will be his 48th Season with the BSO. Stay tuned for the announcement of next season’s program in early May!
