2003-2004 Season Opens with Chris Brubeck
Join the symphony for a great evening of musical fun as the Bartlesville Symphony is joined by Chris Brubeck, Joel Brown, and Peter “Madcat” Ruth, known collectively as TRIPLE PLAY. Performing alongside the orchestra under the direction of Music Director Lauren Green, TRIPLE PLAY will demonstrate the astounding virtuosity and versatility that has made this group a favorite wherever they go and in whatever style they play.
The program will include several classic favorites by Chris’ father Dave Brubeck, including Take Five, Blue Rondo a-la Turk, Koto Song and Unsquare Dance. Music by Fats Waller, Count Basie and others, including some new music by Chris himself, will round out the program.
Additionally, the program will open with William Walton’s brilliant Orb and Scepter March, under the direction of a very special guest conductor!
