Orchestra Rehearsals Begin

Music Director Lauren Green has announced the beginning of rehearsals for the 2003-2004 season of the Bartlesville Symphony. Beginning September 2, 2003 musicians from Bartlesville and the surrounding region will once again meet most every Tuesday evening to prepare for upcoming performances.

“ We are very fortunate to have a roster of over 50 very talented players who return to play season after season,” commented Green. “This low turnover has been a major factor in the ongoing musical growth of our orchestra.”

Although few vacancies occur from year to year, occasional needs for players do arise for particular concerts, and sometimes more. Interested musicians are encouraged to contact the conductor and/or personnel manager. Click here to email.

The Bartlesville Symphony is a cordial combination of paid union musicians (approximately 30%) and unpaid volunteer musicians (approximately 70%.) The age range of the players is broad; from several highly qualified high school players all the way to several senior members who have played with the orchestra since its beginning nearly 50 years ago.

The orchestra meets most Tuesday evenings at 7:30, and also rehearses several extra times immediately prior to performances.
