Nan Buhlinger, General Manager, was co-founder of the OK Mozart International Festival and worked as its Executive Director for 18 years, retiring in 2001 from this position.  Buhlinger graduated from Lindenwood College and has done additional graduate study at Oxford University in England.  Awards garnered during her work with the Mozart festival include the Governor's Arts Award, History Maker of the Year from Women's Network, the Eagle Award for Community Spirit in 2001 from the Boy Scouts, and the Gold Medal of Honor of Austria, presented by its ambassador for drawing the two countries together and creating interest in Austria and the music of Mozart.  Buhlinger has played violin in the symphony since 1967 and has served two separate terms as Symphony board president.

Linda Cubbage, Development Director, will be in charge of fund raising and box office/ticketing duties.  Cubbage worked for many years at the OK Mozart International Festival office in these areas.  Active in volunteerism in the community and a fund raising professional, she attended the University of Oklahoma.  The Austrian ambassador presented Cubbage with the Award of Merit.  She is well known as a fine artist specializing in needlework.

President May stated "I am pleased and excited about the prospect of using the talents and expertise of these two exceptional people to help grow and expand our orchestra's influence and musical significance."

Lauren Green, Music Director-Conductor in his 27th season with the Bartlesville Symphony, remarks "The timing is exactly perfect to seize the opportunity to capitalize on the combined skills these two professionals will use to propel the orchestra to greater regional prominence.  I look forward to the collaboration."

Season tickets for the remaining concerts in the 2003-04 season are available by calling the Bartlesville Community Center box office at (918) 336-2787.  Choice of seating now will guarantee a place for each of the current series concerts and for the outstanding 2004-05 season now being booked.

The Eroica Trio will perform with the symphony on November 22, 2003 at 8 p.m. in the Bartlesville Community Center, Adams and Cherokee.  The trio will play Beethoven's Concerto for Piano, Violin, Violincello and Orchestra in C major, Op. 56 ("Triple Concerto"), a signature piece which this renowned trio has performed more times than any other trio.  The concert will include two chorale preludes by J. S. Bach:  Sheep May Safely Graze and We All Believe in One God ("Giant Fugue") and will conclude with Johannes Brahms Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68.  An informational session with the conductor will be held at 7:00 p.m. preceding the concert and is free to ticket holders.
