A plate full of American favorites and rarities are served up with the help of brilliant American pianist Jeffrey Biegel. The delightful but rarely heard Piano Concerto of Leroy Anderson (Blue Tango, The Typewriter)—just recorded by Biegel, Leonard Slatkin and the BBC Orchestra—is paired with George Gershwin’s beloved jazz-infused classic. Other popular favorites for orchestra will round out this delightful feast.

The wedding of spectacular photography and soul-touching music. Stunningly projected above the orchestra on three huge screens, the images give symphonic favorites new life and meaning, while the orchestral accompaniment powerfully heightens the visual impact of Westwater’s astounding photography.

February 8, 2009 at 2 PM – KALEIDOSCOPE CONCERT


Always an annual highlight—now a part of our regular
season! An afternoon concert of orchestral adventure
and musical amazement! Maestro Green is our guide with
fun and informative narration, and the orchestra shares a
variety of music geared for all ages and levels of musical
sophistication.

Add in the winners of the BSO Young Artists
Competition, and you have the makings for 90 minutes of
inspiring delight! From children, families and symphony
veterans alike, this concert gets rave reviews every year.

SPECIAL ADDED EVENT!!

On Saturday February 7 at 12 noon, kids ages 6-12 can join us for the Symphony Kids Academy, presented by the Bartlesville Academy of Creative Arts. This 90-minute session will expose the kids to the inner workings of the orchestra, concert etiquitte, the music on the program and lots more. It will culminate with the chance to sit onstage with the orchestra while they rehearse for the following day's concert! Admission is free, but KIDS MUST HAVE THEIR TICKETS TO THE KALEIDOSCOPE CONCERT, so get those tickets now! Call 918-336-7717 for further information.

The Gold Medal winner of the 2006 Indianapolis International Violin Competition, now embarking on a stellar recording and concert career. With Strad in hand, Augustin Hadelich is taking the world by storm! The survivor of a tragic fire that nearly took his life, this 25-year old virtuoso has overcome tremendous odds, already garnering acclaim around the world.
