November 18, 2006- ORCHESTRA EXPOSÉ, with BILL KURTIS
What secrets does the symphony hide? What do all those instruments and players up there do, anyway? With the help of renowned broadcaster Bill Kurtis, these questions and more will be answered as the orchestra is taken apart and put back together again. Literally! Garrison Keillor's "Young Lutheran's Guide to the Orchestra" and Corgliano's "Promenade Overture" highlight the concert. This unique concert will truly be a tour de force—and an absolutely rollicking one!

First appearing with our symphony along with her husband Dmitri Berlinsky, Elena now returns for a triumphal solo performance, featuring the romantic, rhapsodic music of Rachmaninoff. The composer's first piano concerto will anchor a concert full of thrilling music from the "North Countries", also featuring Grieg's beloved suite from "Peer Gynt". A beautiful pianist and beautiful music. It doesn't get any better!

February 11 , 2007– KALEIDOSCOPE CONCERT
This year's theme: SUPERHEROES! Enjoy a musical exploration of all sorts of superheroes, from folk tales to comic books. Always a high point of the season, this family concert which is produced with The Symphony Society, features the winners of the Society's annual Young Artist Competition. Not only are the young soloists invariably breathtaking in their prodigious ability, but the entire concert, geared for the whole family, is a delight for audiences of all ages. This is an event not to be missed! NOTE THE NEW MONTH!

MARCH 24, 2007– CARTER BREY, cello
A concert of passion and depth, yet full of excitement and emotion, featuring Carter Brey, Principal Cellist of the New York Philharmonic. Elgar's Cello Concerto and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 fill the program with gorgeous sounds, along with additional works by Brahms and Beethoven. The Bartlesville Choral Society will also be featured, as will a work performed by the symphony almost exactly 25 years ago in their first performance on the Community Center stage. Symphonic music at its best!
This concert honors the late Dr. Spencer Prentiss, longtime principal cellist and member of both the symphony and the Choral Society.

May 5, 2007 – MARK O'CONNOR, violin/fiddle
One of the most gifted performers in American, regularly crossing all sorts of musical boundaries is Mark O'Connor. His knowledge and influence have been felt in a multitude of musical styles—from country fiddling, to bluegrass, to sophisticated jazz and all the way to the classics. His incredible dexterity and technique, along with the ingratiating music he performs and records, have won him a worldwide following since his beginnings as a child Champion Fiddler. A rare opportunity to experience the O'Connor phenomenon in person—and with the symphony this will be a simply delightful evening of music.
